Senate Democrats Urge Bush to Sanction Iran's Central Bank, Designating It as a "Terrorist Entity"

Think that, when it comes to evil foreign policy, Republicans vigorously lead and Democrats merely follow them? Think again.
In a letter to President George W. Bush, Harry Reid, Senate majority leader, and 25 other members of the Senate's Democratic caucus called on Mr Bush to designate the bank [Bank Markazi, Iran's central bank] as a "terrorist entity" or "entity of proliferation concern". I believe this is a ridiculous display of "sour grapes", as oil-rich Iran holds all the trump cards: a newly liberalized oil-bourse, selling in all currencies, its own reserve of nuclear ore for peaceful energy production, natural gas in abundance, and a track-record of initiating productive enterprises in the region and beyond, from Afghanistan to Latin America. The dollar has attained a leprous reputation worldwide under George Bush, and now the shriveled Democrat "opposition" has an offer to restrict investments of dollars as its strong suit? How pathetic!
